Destiny’s Rift by Sam Bowring, because I’ve been reading far too much classic stuff for my own good, and I want something less dense for a change. That being said, it’s the second book in the trilogy and I loved the first. If you like fantasy, check out Prophecy’s Ruin.
6th century BC: Legend says Greek wrestlerMilo of Croton came upon a tree-trunk split with wedges. Testing his strength, he tried to rend it with his bare hands. The wedges fell, trapping his hands in the tree making him unable to defend himself from attacking wolves, which devoured him.
“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”—Ira Glass (via smut-to-go)

i miss you.
psychology is such a bore.
Thanks for the follow back. You are a ridiculously interesting person and as a small stalker-ish side note, your post about things you like - I like everything on that list. Except my mum not yours ;)
Enjoy your day xo
No problem :) I did a bit of stalking myself, hence the follow back. And thank you!
I’ve been told a lot of people love my mum, although according to the same people she’s extremely stupid and overweight too, so I wouldn’t trust those accounts.
Also, “loquacious” is up there with “malevolent” and “superfluous” in my list of favourite words.
hmph, show off.. nah i knew you'd catch up eventually :)
i bet i got that song stuck in your head though ;D
deciding to learn all the lyrics to bohemian rhapsody is one of the most extreme cases of procrastination i have ever come across.
damn homework :(
i likes your theme :3
Just because there’s a day for gay people who committed suicide, doesn’t mean everybody else who dies from anything is being somehow disgraced by not getting equal recognition.
People are making a fuss over this, as opposed to something like terminal cancer (which is tragic, but more difficult to fix), because these deaths could have been prevented. Yes, we can work for a cure for cancer, but all we need to do to stop more suicides like this is raise awareness. These kids are being driven to suicide because they are being bullied. Bullying can be stopped.
So people, stop chucking a fucking bitch-fit about not getting a “straight suicide awareness day”. It’s fucking different and you know it.
You’re complaining because people are trying to raise awareness for something? We have WAY more awareness of cancer, millions, maybe even billions of dollars are raised for that each year. This day isn’t even about raising money, just awareness.
